YWCA makes interim director permanent

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The YWCA of the Greater Triangle has named Folami Bandele as its new executive director.

Bandele, who has been director of program development and grants management, was named interim executive director in October, when Leigh Duque resigned to become chief development officer at the North Carolina Coastal Pines Girl Scouts.

Bandele has 10 years of nonprofit experience, including fund development, program management and community relations.

Before joining the YWCA in 2005, she was director of the Support our Students program in Johnston County and program director for the Raleigh Housing Authority Scholarship Fund.

In her three-year tenure at the YWCA as director of program development and grants management, she has helped raised more than $1.8 million.

Outside of her work in the nonprofit sector, Bandele also has worked for the Cary-based SAS Institute.
